You need to be offensive. You need to attack from the start. Go in there pumped up and tap into that crowd support. They like Nadal for sure. But he's not theirs and you are, and since that tie-break on Monday you have them behind you, not on your back. Use them. Channel their energy. That could even start to get inside the Spaniard's head at some point, as surely as it got to Gasquet.
Start fast and hard and sure. Try to catch Nadal cold. Pressure his backhand side with deep forehands and then, if you can upset his rhythm just a little bit, that would be the right time to try one of your fancy drop-shot gems. Just do not expect them to work all the time against such a ferocious competitor. And if they don't, then mix it up and try to stamp your authority in a different way.
I'm not your coach so I'm saying this more for the benefit of The Independent's readers. If I was your coach, I would actually avoid any specific game-plan at all. Why? Because, boy, you're an instinctive player.

Devi essere offensivo. Devi attaccare fin dall'inizio. Vai lì deciso e sfrutta tutto l'appoggio del pubblico. Di sicuro amano Nadal. Ma lui non è dei loro, e tu lo sei, e da quel tiebreak di lunedì li hai tutti per te, e non sopra di te. Usali. Sfrutta la loro energia. A un certo punto questo potrebbe entrare nella testa di Nadal, come di certo è accaduto in quella di Gasquet.

Comincia in velocità, e con decisione. Cerca di approfittare di Nadal mentre è freddo. Mettigli pressione sul rovescio con dritti profondi e poi, se riesci un po'a variare il suo ritmo, sarebbe il momento giusto di provare una delle tue splendide e fantasiose palle corte. Non ti aspettare che funzionino sempre, contro un competitore così feroce. E, se non funzionano, cambia strategia e cerca di affermare la tua autorità in un modo diverso.

Non sono il tuo allenatore, e quindi sto dicendo queste cose più che altro per i lettori dell'Indipendent. Se fossi il tuo coach, in realtà eviterei di suggerirti un piano di gioco preciso. Perché? Perché, ragazzo, sei un giocatore istintivo.
