Birthday party before the real excitement starts
Hi Everyone,
OK, so tomorrow (Tuesday) I start playing. I am very excited since you all know I love the competition. Last year I arrived early here in London and the wait to start was long. Also we had bad weather and all that, but this year I arrived late to Wimbledon and the wait has been incredibly short. It is actually already Monday and tomorrow we are off to play.
So my days have been easy and quite. No hick-ups. I have been practising and since the weather has been holding we cannot complain. This year the house where I am staying is even closer to the club. Walking it takes me 1 minute or 2 and so I can practice and go home for lunch, watch some TV, play some PS and go back to practice. We had lunch today and did the normal pasta I always do. Pasta with mushrooms and seafood. We didn't have seafood today so I just put some surinami I think it is called. These Japanese sticks that taste so good. I put a lot of onions before so it is really nice. Carlos Costa, my manager, arrived last night so he came for lunch and we also took the chance to talk about different things. I also talk to him a lot about tennis since he was a very good tennis player and knows a lot so it is always good to have him around.
Tonight we are going to the city since we have been invited to Albert Costa's birthday dinner. His wife has come and has organized this secret dinner. A whole bunch of people will be there and so no cooking tonight for me. I normally don't go to London during these weeks but tonight it is special so we will be there. The dinner, where? of course at El Cambio de Tercio !!! I think we are over 25 people so I am sure it will be a lot of fun !
I am feeling good and let's see how this starts. You never know with Wimbledon and grass.

Una festa di compleanno prima che la vera emozione abbia inizio
Ciao a tutti,
Ok, domani (martedì) inizierò a giocare. Sono molto emozionato, poiché, come sapete tutti, amo la competizione. L’anno scorso sono arrivato presto a Londra e l’attesa prima di iniziare è stata lunga. Abbiamo avuto anche brutto tempo e tutto il resto; quest’anno, invece, sono arrivato tardi a Wimbledon e l’attesa è stata incredibilmente breve. E’ già lunedì e domani saremo in campo per giocare.
Le mie giornate sono state serene e tranquille. Nessun problema. Mi sono allenato e poiché il tempo si è mantenuto bello, non ci possiamo lamentare. Quest’anno la casa dove alloggio è ancora più vicina al club. Per andare là a piedi bastano 1 o 2 minuti e quindi posso allenarmi, andare a casa per mangiare, guardare un po’ di televisione, giocare alla Playstation e poi tornare ad allenarmi. Oggi abbiamo mangiato la pasta che faccio di solito. Pasta con funghi e pesce. Non avevo pesce oggi, quindi ho messo solo del surinami, credo che si chiami così. Quei bastoncini giapponesi che sono così buoni. Ho messo molta cipolla prima, quindi aveva un buon sapore. Carlos Costa, il mio manager, è arrivato la notte scorsa, quindi è venuto a pranzo e abbiamo anche colto l’occasione per parlare di alcune cose. Ho poi parlato molto con lui anche di tennis, dato che è stato un buonissimo giocatore e conosce molte cose, motivo per cui è sempre positivo averlo accanto.
Stasera andremo in centro perché siamo invitati alla festa di compleanno di Albert Costa. Sua moglie è arrivata ed ha organizzato una cena a sorpresa. Ci sarà un bel gruppo di persone, quindi non dovrò cucinare stasera. Normalmente non vado a Londra durante queste settimane ma stasera è speciale, quindi saremo là. La cena, dove? Ovviamente a “El Cambio di Tercio”!!! Credo che saremo in 25, quindi sono sicuro che ci divertiremo.
Mi sento bene e vediamo un po’ come comincerà. Non si sa mai con Wimbledon e l’erba.
